WB Student credit card scheme – How to apply
The chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee has launched the West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme. The decision to launch this scheme was taken in a state cabinet meeting which was held on 24th June 2021.
Through this scheme students studying in class 10th or above can take a loan up to Rs 10 lakh for higher studies. This loan will be available to them at a very low rate of interest. For availing of the benefit of this loan, students will be provided a credit card. With the help of this credit card, students can withdraw the amount of loan.
All those students who have been living in West Bengal for the last 10 years can take benefit from this scheme. Under this scheme, loans can be availed for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral studies in India or abroad.

West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme Launched
The government of West Bengal has launched the West Bengal student credit card scheme on 30th June 2021. This scheme has been launched in order to provide loans to students for their education.
Various meetings are being held with colleges in order to explain the action plan of this scheme. The department of Higher Education will soon release an official order to launch the West Bengal student credit card scheme. The maximum limit of this loan is Rs 10 lakh.
This loan can use for pursuing studies in India and abroad. This scheme was a part of the election manifesto made by current Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
